"Must Be The Mardi Gras" is an original Armand St. Martin song on his CD, "Alligator Ball" on Patty Lee Records. This song was originally on his 45 RPM vinyl record, and also on his EP cassette titled, "Be Your Own Parade", which later became the Bonus Tracks for "Alligator Ball" (see credits below).

St. Martin's music video by the same title of "Must Be The Mardi Gras" has St. Martin as the only "performer on the video" with the recorded song by Armand St. Martin and his Bayou Bohemians (see credits below).

This hit video can directly be found on myspace.com/armandstmartin, click "video".

This hit video can also be found on Vimeo video, Armand St. Martin by goggling.

"Must Be The Mardi Gras", the video, ran in New Orleans 25 times on local television during Mardi Gras 2009!

ARMAND ST. MARTIN

MUST BE THE MARDI GRAS
Patty Lee Records

Review by:
Dean M. Shapiro, Music Critic

"Gettin' Into the Spirit" could be an alternate title to this jumpin', thumpin', rockin', rollin' music video by local piano man and vocalist Armand St. Martin. Shot at Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World amid colorful props and floats, backed by pre-recorded horns and drums, St. Martin gets the Carnival spirit pumped up with this lively, original tune that may, in time, become a Mardi Gras classic alongside a handful of others in the genre. Taken from St. Martin's 45 RPM record of several years ago, the video was recorded for the New Orleans City Council by NOA-TV in January '08, but it's as fresh now as it was then and will still be many years from now. "You can be your own parade on Mardi Gras," is the song's key line, repeated several times for emphasis. Truer words were never spoken (or sung!). Buy, listen, watch, enjoy and get into the Carnival party zone between now and Fat Tuesday. Look for it in local music stores or order online at www.PattyLeeRecords.com. - Dean M. Shapiro

4. ARMAND LIVE WITH

VARIOUS PLAYERS

MID-CITY ROCK 'N' BOWL

ON KEYBOARDS

A MUSICAL TRIBUTE AFTER

THE JAZZ FUNERAL OF

ANTOINETTE DORSEY K-DOE

After the unexpected and sad passing of Ernie K-Doe's widow Antoinette K-Doe on Mardi Gras morning, February 24, 2009, a Jazz Funeral was given to Antoinette on February 28, 2009 after a church service and also right before this musical tribute to Antoinette, held at Rock 'n' Bowl. Musicians showed up in numbers to play on stage, sometimes as many as 15 on the stage at the same time.

A short segment (which we are still working on because it seems in slow-motion - and Armand normally plays this genre of music really f-a-s-t!) of Armand on Keyboards with Jay Monque'D singing/harmonica, and Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes singing/harmonica, along with a cast of amazing and talented New Orleans players. (If you can identify players, please let us know so they can be given proper credit.)
